Letting you stretch out the time it takes to deplete a planet and also where cravers are effects the happiness of the whole system since one craver will enslave all other aliens on the same planet as it. Getting lots of non craver populations is useful too, you can stick all the systems population of cravers onto one planet alone and deplete that while the others aliens don't deplete their own planets because if a craver isn't on it, it doesn't deplete. Capture enough early game assets and you will still snowball even after you deplete all those planets. You could even take on a whole empire and blockade them with a turn 1 war, not to mention the cravers special exploiting of planets lends itself naturally to early game rush strategy. Rush wars are super effective for Cravers using those scavenger ships before the enemy has researched the means to fight back.

Scavengers are tough enough to fight they are like half as strong as the first fighter ships everyone has to research the hull for, so its entirely possible to go blockade a minor civilisation on turn one, throw a couple more ships plus the free quest ship at them and you can get the minor civilisation incredibly fast. Theres usually 5 different quests going on and you know that you wont be able to win in at least 2 or 3 of them. Perhaps difficult is the wrong word though, 'overwhelming' might be a more fitting term. With that pumped up economy just spam ships to defend yourself but you'd be surprised how many empires just sit there at war with you without ever attacking.Īnd make loads of scavengers to fight and explore like crazy, make big scavenger fleets with maybe 500 manpower to beat minor civilsation ground forces then rush to gobble up every minor civilisation as fast as you can because every occupied minor civilisation gives you new traits that can a boost of resources worth hundreds of whatever resource like dust or food to your economy. I say this as someone who spent plenty of time playing the first Endless Space, this game gives me some difficult.

I ended up in the situation where I could turn on every law which made people unhappy like the taxes law and the cram exam law giving me lots of extra dust and science, I could do everything that made people unhappy and it was practically impossible for my people not to be ecstatic until I destroyed too many empires. Why you might ask? Well as long as your militarist party is in charge which barring something extreme it should always be easily, you will get big happiness in every system for all the wars you are in. My biggest Craver tip, consider declaring war on people far away from you in the galaxy and preferably on every empire simultaneously.
